TECHNICAL RESEARCH
The formation mechanism of the wet plume is shown in Figure 1 is the saturation curve of wet air. It is assumed that the state of wet flue gas at the chimney outlet is at point a, while the state of ambient air is at point F, and the flue gas is in the unsaturated state when leaving the chimney. The mixing process of wet flue gas and ambient air begins to change along the AB line. When it reaches point B, the flue gas becomes saturated wet flue gas. After that, the mixing process of wet air and ambient air changes along the BDE curve, and the excess water vapour will condense into small liquid droplets, forming a wet plume.

WHITE SMOKE PURIFICATION TECHNOLOGY INTRODUCTION The direct discharge of wet flue gas after wet desulfurization will product "white plume". In the process of desulfurization, the desulfurization is in direct contact with high-temperature flue gas, resulting in heat and mass transfer, on the one hand, water evaporation increases the moisture content of flue gas, on the other hand, the temperature of flue gas decreases, and the ability of flue gas carrying water vapour decreases.  When the flue gas reaches the saturation state, it will carry some small droplets, these saturated wet flue gas carrying small droplets will be directly discharged into the atmosphere through the chimney after most of the droplets are removed by the demister. Because the ambient temperature is lower than the flue gas temperature, the moisture in the saturated wet flue gas will condense into small droplets to form a "white plume". There is no doubt about the contribution of wet plumes to air pollution. The white smoke produced by wet desulfurization is due to the direct contact between the desulfurized solution and high-temperature flue gas, which makes the flue gas humidified and cool, and the moisture in desulfurized solution absorbs heat and vaporizes, resulting in a great increase in the total amount of water vapour in the flue gas.  With the development of the desulfurization process, the humidity of floe gas decreases gradually, and the ability of flue gas carrying steam decreases with the decrease of the flue gas temperature. When the total amount of steam exceeds the carrying capacity of the flue gas, the water in the flue gas discharged by the chimney cannot be fully diluted by the atmosphere in time, and the dew point temperature of the local mimed gas formed by the discharged flue gas and the atmosphere is hight than the dry bulb temperature of the mixed gas, a large amount of water vapour will condense into small water drops, and from white smoke after being discharged by the chimney. No matter what kind of wet process, the white smoke often contains desulfurized, by-product sulfur trioxides and aerosols, if ammonia process and ammonia escape are serious, the pollution is obvious.
