SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION

TECHNOLOGY INTRODUCTION
SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) is a Selective Catalytic Reduction technology. Currently, ammonia Catalytic Reduction is the most widely used technology. It has no by-products, no secondary pollution, simple structure, high removal efficiency (up to 90%), reliable operation, easy maintenance and other advantages. Selectivity refers to the reduction and removal reaction of NH3 priority and NOx under the action of the catalyst and in the presence of oxygen, and the formation of nitrogen and water, but not the oxidation reaction of oxygen in the flue gas.
The main equation is :
  1. 4 NO + 4 NH3 + O2 = 4 N2 + 6H2O
  2. 2 NO2 + 4 NH3 + O2 = 3 N2 + 6 H2O
In the absence of catalyst, the reaction is in a very narrow range of temperature (980℃), using catalyst when the reaction temperature can be controlled in 300 ~ 400℃, under the equivalent of boiler economizer and air preheater between the flue gas temperature, the reaction is an exothermic reaction, due to the low NOx concentration in flue gas, so the reaction catalyst temperatures can be ignored.
